Full blown toddlerhood...

I've been a bit neglectful of the blog lately. I haven't posted since Livvy turned a year old. She's 16 months now, and a bundle of energy. I spend a good deal of my time at home chasing after her. She is quite fearless, and will climb and throw herself off of anything. She took a header off of our bed, which is quite tall, and wanted right back up so she could throw herself off the edge. This one is going to give me grey hair:)

Olivia is also full of personality. She loves to pull faces and I often get comments about how entertaining she is. I have been warned that I will probably recieve many calls home about my class clown. She is quite the mimic and will copy just about any face that Rod or I pull.

I am now looking forward to a summer off with my little one. I can't wait for a couple of months of nothing but taking care of her. I've already got a few little adventures planned.

The following pics are some highlights from the past couple of months. We recently had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Jorgensen that included Olivia's first trip to the beach. She refused to walk on the sand, but had a great time sitting on our laps and playing in it.

A year old...

No longer is she a baby. Olivia is charging into toddlerhood full speed ahead. She's not quite walking on her own, but loves to cruise around with the aid of a push toy. She is pure entertainment these days. We often refer to her as "Hurricaine Olivia" because of her ability to completely take out a room in less than five minutes. She is also saying a couple of words. "Hey" and "Hi" were the first, soon followed by "Diddy" (kitty). She gets a kick out of chasing the cats around the house while squealing "Diddy!" at the top of her lungs. Needless to say, the cats spend a good deal of time hiding under the bed.

Speaking of cats, as I was typing this, Olivia just crawled over and ate a piece of cat food. Maybe we should go have some lunch. :)

The video is just Olivia at her adorable best:

Baby's First X-mas

We spent Christmas with my family in Utah this year. All in all, it was a great trip. We started in Las Vegas to see Uncle Jan playing in the Las Vegas Bowl. Olivia was a trooper, even though it was pretty darn cold. After that we drove to Helper and had to whole family together for the holiday.

It seems that Livvy saves all of her "firsts" for my parents. First laugh, first roll over, and now first time crawling. We finally have mobility! I'm sure that we are in for it now.

Johnny Rotten ain't got nothin' on me...

Yep. I'm bad. Check the mohawk. And just to prove that I have no regard for social order, after these shots were taken I pooped in the tub. ANARCHY!!!

Monkey

What better costume for our little monkey than, well, a monkey? Mom had to doctor the costume a bit as she wasn't thinking about her daughter's massive noggin (93rd percentile) when she bought the costume.

Olivia has learned how to clap (and not just with her hands)!

Baby girl loooves her jumper. Best purchase ever.

So all in all her eigth month has been a fun one. Teething has been a bit of a trial as she seems to just get over the pain of cutting one before another starts working it's way in. We're working on the third one now. Next step, crawling...

Finger foods and a First Tooth

At eight months, Olivia is a bundle of energy. She is not quite crawling yet, but I don't think it will be far off. She is also in the process of cutting her first tooth, and it seems to be taking forever! Thank heavens for teething tablets.

I have settled into work, and Olivia is doing well at daycare, only she doesn't like to sleep when she's there. There is way too much fun to be had, and she isn't going to miss a second. She has always been our little social butterfly. On the plus side, it means she crashes when we get home and I get a little time to wind down.

We have started giving Olivia finger foods. The video is of her first attempt at feeding herself, and like anything to do with food, she took to it right away.
